Tom Watson DVDs Lessons of a Lifetime

Review of Recent DVD Release

By John Ehle

Tom Watson's career speaks for itself. When, at 60 years old, he nearly captured another Open Championship, we all knew that Watson was still capable of playing world class golf. He was a clear favorite but couldn't quite rise to the occasion and graciously accepted the 2nd place medal at the Open.

He has recently released an estimable, two DVD set of instructional videos which may be the best instructional product available. The combination of his knowledge, excellent graphics and Watson's articulate, accessible teaching style will offer the committed student of the game an exhaustive curriculum which will offer each golfer opportunities to explore every facet of the game and a chance to improve.

Mr. Watson is no pretender to be the sage on the stage. He references his teachers and colleagues at every opportunity; Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Arnold Palmer, his dad......Watson reveres his teachers as formers of his fabulous game. The best means of growing as a golfer is to practice. Absent instruction, practice is animated chaos. If you are interested in growing your game, this series will assist you on your journey.......and golf is a journey.

Direct instruction and several additional pieces about how to address specific problems and Watson's close relationship with his caddie, Bruce Edwards, will afford every student of the game the best chance to begin or expand his/her knowledge of the game. While 1:1 instruction cannot be beat, Tom Watson's teaching series, "Lessons of a Lifetime", will add valuable knowledge to our treasure chests of golf knowledge.
