South Seas Island Resort Hosts Captiva's Monday After the Masters Event

April 26, 2012 -South Seas Island Resort hosted Captiva's popular Monday after the Masters event (pictured left) to benefit the Captiva Community Panel on April 9, 2012. The par 3 golf event on the award-winning nine-hole course was a sunset community celebration with chances to win five $10,000 hole-in-one prizes and more. More than 100 attendees enjoyed golf, cocktails and a silent auction on the ninth hole. Monies raised from the event benefited the Captiva Community Panel's dedicated initiatives, to preserve the historic character and protect the long-term interests of the island and its environment.

Designed by Chip Powell, South Seas Island Resort was recently voted a Top 20 Florida Golf Resort by Condé Nast Traveler. Its nine-hole executive golf course (pictured above) boasts breathtaking ocean views from every hole and is ranked one of the Top Five Short Courses in the world by the Professional Golfers Association. Daily unlimited golf fees start at $65 and a three-day unlimited golf package that includes a complimentary day-use golf cart is available for $125 per person.

Resort guests are also welcome to challenge their game at the nearby 18-hole championship golf course, The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club, which is the only PGA-rated golf course on the island. And they can look the part if they visit the Captiva Course Golf Shop, a full-service pro shop featuring South Seas logo golf shirts, caps, golf balls, gloves and a selection of shorts, sweaters and sweater vests.
