MISSION INN RESORT & CLUB ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR OF GOLF
By Dave Daubert
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL - Mission Inn Resort & Club, an MMI Hotel Group property, is pleased to share the appointment of Bryan Mulry, PGA to the position of Director of Golf. In this role, Mulry will oversee golf operations for both championship courses, El Campeón and Las Colinas, and their facilities located on the storied Central Florida resort property. This appointment comes amid several enhancement projects planned for the property under new ownership.
Mulry, a certified Class 'A' PGA of America member for 25 consecutive years, has industry experience spanning more than three decades. He holds a bachelor's degree in professional golf management from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. He began his career in his home state of Wisconsin in the nineties gaining valuable experience managing day-to-day golf operations for 18-hole private facilities. In 2011, Mulry's professional journey brought him to Central Florida where he worked with the International Junior Golf Academy (formerly Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy), whose offices were located on Mission Inn Resort grounds, as a Senior Golf Coach and Junior Tour Director. During this time, he was afforded the rare opportunity to train some of the world's most elite junior golfers. In early 2023, Mulry was appointed to the position of Head Golf Professional for Mission Inn Resort & Club, shortly thereafter he ascended to the position of Director of Golf.
"The appointment of Bryan, coupled with the renovations we're making across the property, are ushering us into a new and exciting chapter," said Cindy Staley, General Manager, Mission Inn Resort & Club. "We felt that Bryan would bring some fresh perspective to our current operation, while still holding tight to the values and important legacy of this historic resort and club. Bryan already has a deep understanding of our market and relationships with both our members and guests. He's the ideal leader for this position on our senior management team."
In December 2022, MMI Hospitality Group acquired Mission Inn Resort & Club and acts as both owner and operator of the expansive property through their hotel management division, MMI Hotel Group. The appointment of a new golf director coincides well with the planned enhancement projects already underway across the resort, including a new sprinkler system for both golf courses. Additional course maintenance and refurbishments, as well as resort upgrades aimed at elevating the guest experience are planned and will continue through the next few years.
