By Dave Daubert

Burnt Store Marina Country Club, a semi-private facility located in Punta Gorda, Florida has chosen Honours Golf, the Birmingham, Alabama-based division of Troon. The new team will oversee club operations, including golf, agronomy, sales and marketing, and food and beverage.

Located on the Lee/Charlotte County line, Burnt Store Marina Country Club features a 27-hole executive golf course designed by Ron Garl and Mark McCumber. Three 9-hole courses named Heron, Osprey and Pelican meander through native woodlands with lakes and water features coming into play on 21 of the 27 holes.

"Burnt Store Marina Country Club is a wonderful addition to the Honours Golf family of clubs," said Matt Hurley, Division President. "We look forward to working with the members and the HOA as we work to elevate the member and guest experience."

Burnt Store Marina Country Club is owned by the PGI Section 22 HOA and has a vibrant and active social calendar. The club's Linkside Café is open to the public for lunch seven days a week, and open to members-only for dinner on Tuesday evenings. The club has a variety of golf and social memberships available for purchase.

"The Board believes that based on Troon's proven track record of operational effectiveness and focus on member and guest satisfaction, the company will elevate the country club experience," said PGI Section 22 HOA Board President Craig Holcomb.

The Burnt Store Marina community is located on the east side of Charlotte Harbor, just 10 miles east of the Intra-Coastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. The privately gated waterfront community is comprised of more than 1907 residences. Burnt Store Marina is a first-class yachting resort with 525 in-water slips, plus 450 dry docks.
