PGA Country Club Names Holly Taylor New Head Golf Professional

Holly Taylor, who has served as director of the award-winning PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance since 2011, has been named the new PGA head golf professional at its sister facility, the nearby PGA Country Club, in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Owned and operated by the PGA of America, PGA Country Club is located approximately three miles away from the PGA Golf Club, PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance and PGA Museum of Golf. In her new role, Taylor takes over the instruction and day-to-day golf operations component of a private facility that serves more than 600 PGA Golf Club Members via full-, golf- and social memberships.

Previously, Taylor was PGA head golf professional at PGA Golf Club from 2008-11. During this time, she helped elevate the facility to be ranked then as one of the "75 Best Golf Resorts in North America" by Golf Digest.

"Holly Taylor has been an important part of the PGA Golf Club family for the past six years," said PGA Golf Club General Manager Jimmy Terry. "With Holly's guidance and expertise, the Golf Club received some of the highest accolades in its history, while the PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance was named as one of nation's top practice facilities in the country each year. Holly brings to PGA Country Club a wealth of knowledge about our facility and members. In addition, her experience in operating successful and enjoyable member events, along with her expertise in operations, instruction and player development, will greatly benefit our club."

"To lead the golf operations and instruction at the PGA Country Club is a wonderful honor," said Taylor. "It is my mission and goal to offer both PGA Country Club members and guests a golf experience of the highest caliber, one in which they will want to invite their friends back to experience more."

Taylor became a PGA Professional in 1994, after having worked with PGA Director of Golf Bill Whaley at Inverrary Country Club in Ft. Lauderdale. She eventually became a PGA assistant professional at Plymouth (Mass.) Country Club and then at Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton, Mass. Taylor served as PGA head professional at Rockland (Mass.) Golf Course; Waverly Oaks Golf Club in Plymouth, Mass.; Olde Scotland Links Golf Course in Bridgewater, Mass.; and South Shore Country Club in Hingham, Mass. She was then honored for her work in player development by the PGA's Presidents Council on Growing the Game.

A 1985 Boston College graduate with a B.A. in Economics, Taylor played for the school's womens golf and ice hockey teams. She is a former United States Figure Skating Association gold medalist in figures, the compulsory events that was once a requirement of the overall skating competition.
